College Desk Column to Launch!

Think Outside The Box Inside The Box Media is proud to announce that a new column, College Desk, is coming to the site on March 1, 2012.  Written by Think Outside The Box Inside The Box Media’s editor and writer, Alexandra Joan Bennett, College Desk will be articles, interviews and opinions from the desk of a college freshman.

Alexandra Joan Bennett

Alexandra Joan Bennett is a writer, journalist, ultimate Frisbee player and student of Business and Marketing at Colorado State University, Fort Collins.  Originally from Lee’s Summit Missouri, Ms. Bennett was the editor of the Lee’s Summit North High School newspaper, the Northern Exposure, for 3 years, where she gained a vital understanding and know-how of writing and journalism, and gained hands on experience with deadlines, headlines and creative thinking.  She wrote articles, edited her staff’s work, and, the proficiency she reached with InDesign gave her an appreciation and eye for graphic creations. Ms. Bennett also studied, attended and competed in many high school journalism conferences, conventions and competitions including JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism convention sponsored by National Scholastic Press Association and its partner, the Journalism Education Association where she learned practical and professional skills through classes and keynote speakers and, J-Day at the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association, University of Missouri, Columbia where she placed 2nd and 3rd in the “write-offs” as well as discovered one of her current inspirational influences, Steve Serrano, a journalist and DJ from the “#1 radio station in Kansas City” 93.3.  Besides the goal of discovering what exactly she wants to do as a career, Ms. Bennett’s collegiate plan also includes not hiding inside the bubble of the college experience but existing in the “real world” as much as possible, getting her degree and preparing for the not so distant future.
