Day 46: Groundhog Day

Day 46.  Somehow I spent the day working on—wait for it—scene 10!  WTF?  I’m in my own private Groundhog Day (the movie) hell.  I wasn’t planning on including an interview string out in the scene 10 bin for Dan the Amazing Editor Man until I came across the perfect narration for it this morning.  I realized that who I had originally thought would drive the story beats in scene 10 will really be driving the story beats for scene 15.  And someone else entirely is right for scene 10.  Footage had to be moved, scripts had to be tweaked and selects made from an untouched section of an interview.  Honestly, I was a little mad hatter by late afternoon.  It wasn’t full tilt crazy, ship me off to the nut house or anything just a “you’ve got to be kidding me I’m working on this effing scene again already” wackadoodle.

the evidence

I hit multiple walls in my productivity and ate an entire pan of Trader Joe’s shredded hash browns.  What I thought I was going to accomplish with the other two scenes I’m working on never happened.  Deep sigh.  But, I am alive and, as far as I know, healthy.  And that’s a good thing.  So, I will wake up tomorrow and do it all over again.  I really hope I finally get Andie MacDowell in the sack by the end of the day tomorrow and we wake up in postcoital bliss with a new song playing on the radio by Friday morning.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…even if it feels like a repetitive hell, you’ve got to eventually move forward.
