Day 140: Goodbye Dublin, Hello London!

Day 140.

Finally, eight hours of sleep!  The last couple of days were a bit dicey in that department.  As Uh-mazing Romantic Partner said at 3am the other night when we were unable to fall asleep, “we’ve got the jet lag.”  I’m sure we’ll be perfectly acclimated just when it’s time to fly back to California.

As I contemplate packing up this morning, I feel a tad like a traitor.  After all, England and Ireland have quite a checkered past and they still don’t seem to have the warmest feelings for one another to this day.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Dublin and the Irish people are amazing but I’m not going to lie, I love the Brits and I can’t wait to spend some time in London!  I grew up with Princess Di and Shakespeare and pining over any man with an English accent.  My favorite novel is Katherine by Anya Seton.  I read it over and over in my early teens.  It’s a historically factual driven novel based on the 14th century romance between Katherine de Roet and John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster.  It’s such an awesome love story!  And, they were an important hook-up for British history.  Their son, John Beaufort, was the great grandfather of Henry VII, who established the Tudor dynasty.  So fun!

Time to pack it up!

We need to jump in a taxi in less than an hour to head to the Dublin airport and our room looks like a bomb went off in it.  So, there’s no time to reflect and go deep about my time here in Dublin.  But in a nutshell, it was amazing.  Now it’s time to pick up the pace so I can get to London for the first time in my life.  First times are awesome!

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…first times.
