Day 186: A Moment

Day 186.

After a day spent enjoying my freedom with friends, hometown parades and male strippers—yes, I went and saw Magic Mike today…no shame, ladies, no shame—I step into my house.

The kitchen sill is newly covered with bounty from the garden.

Laughter and music drift through the window.

I hear the distant bangs and pops of fireworks going off.

A moment

Dogs bark.

Deep breath.

A moment.

It’s gone.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…a moment.
