Day 187: Lazy Days of Summer

Day 187.  Okay, I’m going to make this full disclosure Thursday.  I’m a compulsive confessor, so let me just get all of this off my chest right now.  First of all, I can’t get out of vacation mode!  There’s just too much watermelon to eat.  Too much barbeque to smell.  Too much grass to run my toes through.  Second of all, I did not complete my writing crusade!  Like that’s a surprise.  I’m sure you noticed I stopped mentioning it back around the week of June 18 when I was supposed to be done by the 22nd!  And finally, to top it off, I broke my ban from Amazon!  UGH.  I was only supposed to order my supplements.  Yeah, you know where this is going.

Green goodness!

I save like $25 if I buy them on Amazon instead of at Whole Foods, which is awesome but then, I gave myself an inch.  I said, “just one book.  Just one.”  I ordered three new books!  I have an excuse for the first book, which is my friend Anita Finlay’s Dirty Words on Clean Skin, because I can’t buy it anywhere but Amazon.  Technically, I can use that excuse for the second book, too.  It’s by a woman I just met on Twitter whose energy and tweets I adore, While I was Learning to Become God by Roxana Jones, and the third book is On the Road by Jack Kerouac, which is research for my screenplay—I know, I know, I said I was going to get that one from the library.  I’m sorry!  I broke down, people, I broke down!  I’m not proud.  But, the ban went back into effect the minute I pressed confirm order.  And it’s just too beautiful outside to stay mad at myself for long.  After all, nothing lasts forever, right?  Certainly not summer or bans or, I hope, not writer’s block.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…summer relapses.

  1. Hmmm I think you’re being too hard on yourself Kelli… At least in terms of my book While I was Learning to Become God, I know that you won’t regret having that story in your heart… So apologies accepted 😉 LOVE your blog, and also the fact that you’re a great “compulsive confessor”… I wonder where the world would be if every one could be like you!
Keep enjoying the lazy summer days ♥

PS: And thank you for your kind mention!

      • I appreciate that, Kelly. As long as media keeps pretending at fair treatment of women they do not actually offer, these types of disgraceful old tropes will continue to be used and flourish. Women deserve better. Actually, we all do. Thanks for your support.
