Day 258: That’s 3!

Day 258.  Looooooong day in the editing bay yesterday.  The time it is taking to get through a scene is getting progressively longer.  I knew it would.  That first scene taking just a couple hours was only because there wasn’t a lot to do to revise it.  The scene I finished yesterday was much more complicated—it was basically editing three scenes in one—intro’ing two of our kids and going on an EMS call with them.  I clocked in just over 11 hours to get it to a watchable sequence.  It’s too long at 15 minutes 48 seconds and will eventually need to end up around 5-8 minutes.  But, that’s ok.  We already know where it can be trimmed quite a bit and finessed to a finer cut.  But the good news is, it’s not just watchable, it’s good.  Woo hoo!

I’m moving on to the next scene today.  This one will probably take as long if not longer than the one yesterday.  I might even need two days.  It is also three scenes in one but even more time intensive because I’ll be building one of those scenes from scratch.  It’s a brand new add.  There’s no preexisting string out.  So, we’ll see if I can pull this one off in just one work session.  I’m pretty resolved to complete one scene a day.  I haven’t started any official crusade or anything I’m just quietly determined.  I’ll let you know in the morning if I pull it off.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…quiet determination.
