I choose the wrong footwear yesterday. I wore a pair of flip-flops that, in general, are very comfortable. But, we ended up walking a lot more than I thought we were going to. By the end of the first long walk, I had blisters on my left foot. Well, Eye-Doc Sis immediately got to thinking. First, she searched for a Band-Aid in her purse. She’s not only an eye doctor she’s also a mom so she has one of those magical purses that has tons of random but helpful stuff in it.
She didn’t have any Band-Aids.
“What about a stamp?” She creatively suggested.
“Hmmmm, I think it’ll get rubbed off to easily.”
And then, she said, “I know, take my socks!”
She sensibly went with sneakers even though we were going to the beach. I felt too guilty to take both of her socks, so I only took one. After all, it was only one blistered foot. Her creative thinking saved my ass! The sock was a miracle worker. It worked like a charm. Although I got many odd looks by my newly sock clad foot, I didn’t care. We were able to enjoy the rest of our time on Coronado Island without me whining like a little bitch about how much my blisters hurt.
You just never know what unexpected combinations might unlock whatever it is you need to create at any given moment. Now that was some good thinking outside the box inside the box and creating from what you have by Eye-Doc Sis!
Until tomorrow, create from what you have…unexpected combos.
