In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 279: Checking it off the list!

Day 279:  Scene 5 is done!  Woo hoo!  I sat down to work on it around 1pm yesterday after I’d had a lovely breakfast meeting with Dear Friend.  We set a date to launch her column in two weeks—fun!  What surprised me the most about scene 5 was when I watched down what I’d already done I immediately knew it wasn’t as far away as I thought it was.  Really, Kel?  What was the big deal?  What was your problem with this scene?  Perhaps it was the two weeks away that gave me fresh eyes, perhaps it was my determination of finishing it, perhaps my stress levels lowered enough I could see clearly, either way it only took me about six hours to do the work!  And it came out really great.  So I spent two weeks putting off six hours of work.  Good lord.  I need to work on that.  Once I put all three sections of the scene together—the scene is really three scenes in one—it’s running long, 17:58, but it’s watchable and, I believe, quite a fun watch.  Cue my massive relief.

As I begin my Friday, I have my sights set on scene 6.  It’s a history piece with the organization’s founder and Producing Partner has already done a wonderful cut of it.  There are just a few things we want to add.  So, hopefully, I can bang that out quickly and have plenty of time left to prepare for my accomplishment group graduation on Saturday night—I have to introduce a fellow AG member—and the Declare Your Dream Discussion next Tuesday.

The best thing about yesterday and finally finishing scene 5 is that it reminds me that I can do these seemingly impossible things if I set my mind to it.  If I focus on it and believe I can do it and then I actually do the work to do it the impossible isn’t so impossible anymore.

New theme for the next 87 days:  Focus + Belief + Action = Possibility.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…you can do it.
