In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 281: Accomplishment Group & Audition!

Day 281:  Last night was amazing.  Very special.  I had the honor of introducing Marcia Cross.  I ended up forgetting half of what I wrote and just speaking from my heart.  She is truly one of the kindest, most generous, nicest women on the planet.  The last thing I said to her before I left was, “I hope I can produce a film someday I get to cast you in because you are exactly the kind of good people I want to work with.”  And I meant it.  She’s truly a bright light of positive energy.

So, I have officially graduated from Andrea Quinn’s Accomplishment Group!  I can’t recommend her or her work highly enough.  Wonderful woman, wonderful program, wonderful work.  And let me tell you, it was a transformative nine months.  And, I adore every woman who was in my group!  I can’t wait to share each of them and their incredible accomplishments with you as they unfold.  It is an incredible group I am a part of and it is an honor to know them all.  Thank you for all the inspiration, ladies!  Let’s kick some serious ass on these dreams of ours!

Casting house!

The only down side, I sound like Harvey Fierstein this morning.  Totally lost my voice last night!  I’m nursing it with hot tea and lemon, hoping it will smooth out before I go to tape my audition to send to the Tyler Perry casting director today.  I’m very excited though.  Two wonderful women from my accomplishment group who are casting directors gave me wonderful pointers and were so supportive and kind last night.  Thank you, Dylann and Kelly!  And thank you, Screenwriter Cindy, Broadway Bound Kelly Jean, and Fabulous Ferrell for being so supportive and kind, as always.  You Lulas are truly amazing.

Uh-mazing Romantic Partner has been setting up the camera and doing tests all morning to get us ready.  He’s transforming our living room into a casting office.  So fun!  And now, I have to create my character and memorize her lines.  Then I’ll have to transform myself into her clothes, her hair, her make-up, her shoes, and go “be” her.  Wish me luck!

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…inspiring women and unexpected opportunities.
