In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 296: Dream Chaser

Day 296:  Eye Doc Sis plays guitar and has an amazing singing voice.  A little mortifying history is that she and I used to sing duets and go to talent contests when we were teenagers.  We sang Juice Newton’s song Shot Full of Love and the Judds’ song Mama He’s Crazy.  Oh, and also, Loretta Lynn’s You Ain’t Woman Enough.  At least those are the ones I remember.  She pulled out her guitar the other night and we tried to remember the words to all of them.  I’ve really lost my voice but she still sounds wonderful!

She also sang me a song that whenever she hears it, she thinks of me.  It’s called Dream Chaser.  It’s all about coming home from chasing dreams.  We were balling like babies.  It’s good to be home again where my dreams began.  We went up to the family farm and saw my Mother and Daddy yesterday, and it just so happened another sister was there with her family.  It was a great visit.

I have the rest of the day with Eye Doc Sis then I’ll be back out following the stars, chasing my dreams again tomorrow.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…dreams to chase.

Dream Chaser by The Judds

I’m gonna pack my bags and drive all night
I’ll be in the mountains by morning light
Drive the road I traveled years ago
As a young girl leaving home

With dreams as big as the trees were tall
I knew I’d have nothing or I’d have it all
And you all know what happens when the bright lights call
Either gonna make or you’re gonna fall, make it or you’re gonna fall

I’m a dream chaser, a star gazer that’s what I am
But I’ve always known I’d come back home when I found my rainbows end
Rainmakers and heart breakers could never change my plans
Dream chaser, that’s what I am

I’m goin’ home where the stars shine bright in a mountain sky
That path above I’ve followed all of my life
It’s guiding me back to where my dreams began
Then I’ll be gone again, I’ll be gone again

I’m a dream chaser, a star gazer that’s what I am
But I’ve always known I’d come back home when I found my rainbows end
Rainmakers and heart breakers could never change my plans
Dream chaser, that’s what I am
Dream chaser, that’s what I am
