In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 301—A new plan!

Day 301:  Scene 11 is done!  For now.  I will always add that caveat from this point forward.  I thought I was done editing back in May.  So, I’ll say it again to remind myself—scene 11 is done for now.  Moving onto scene 12 today.

The new plan—if I can keep up this pace of having a watchable scene after one day of work…one long day, clocked in 12 and ½ straight in front of the Avid yesterday—is to spend one (long) day getting the cut focused, dialed in with the revised direction and watchable.  Once I’m through all of the scenes doing that pass, then, Producing Partner and I will review them and make detailed notes for the second day of revisions and polishing.  I am YouSendIt’ing the cuts each day in QuickTime movies to Producing Partner to watch.  At 3:08am he emailed me another thumb’s up from the cut I sent last night.  Fingers crossed he’s not sleep deprived and delirious or full of shit.

Anyway, instead of spending two days in a row on each scene I’m going to spend one day now and then the second day in about a month—if that makes sense.  It makes sense to me.  The “for now” is super important because I will be revisiting each scene again in December and taking yet another, hopefully super focused, editing pass getting us, hopefully, yet another step closer to completion.  And now, I begin yet another new plan to finish this film.  7000th time the charm?  Fingers crossed.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…new plans.
