In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 296: Dream Chaser

Day 296:  Eye Doc Sis plays guitar and has an amazing singing voice.  A little mortifying history is that she and I used to sing duets and go to talent contests when we were teenagers.  We sang Juice Newton’s song Shot Full of Love and the Judds’ song Mama He’s Crazy.  Oh, and also, Loretta Lynn’s You Ain’t Woman Enough.  At least those are the ones I remember.  She pulled out her guitar the other night and we tried to remember the words to all of them.  I’ve really lost my voice but she still sounds wonderful! She also sang me a song that whenever she hears it, she thinks of me.  It’s called Dream Chaser.  It’s all about coming home from chasing dreams.  We were...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 295: Surprise!

Day 295: I am pleased to report that I pulled off a really cool surprise coup! I took the red-eye to Kansas City, Missouri and my awesome up for anything niece picked me up at midnight even though she had been in school all day and had to be up for work the next morning. She smuggled me into the house.  We managed to sneak past her dad and mother’s room at 1am.  We slept for a few hours until she had to be up at 6:30am.  She went downstairs first with her present for her mom, who was already up. Her mom opened her present, and then my Awesome Up-for-anything Niece said, “I’ve got one more surprise.”  This was my cue line.  I missed it. She said louder, “I’ve got one...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 294: Quiet

Day 294: I feel quiet this morning—emotionally, mentally, physically.  It’s a sign!  I need to take the weekend away from the doc and the editing and well, everything.  Decision made, decision granted. It’s quiet yes, but honestly, I’ve just got no juice in the tank this morning.  Finishing scene 7 was intense and I need to recover.  I will begin again fresh on scene 10 next week. Until tomorrow, create from what you have…weekends away from everything. Morning Motivation — Are you connecting?

Posted by

Are you connecting?   Do you remember the last time you made a true connection—with someone or something or some idea?  It had magic in it!  Connecting creates power.  If you don’t connect to something you will never care about it.  If you don’t connect to someone you will never care about him or her.  If you don’t connect to your self you’ll never know your self.  If you don’t connect to what you’re creating you will never create it. Truly connect to yourself and to everything and everyone around you.  No agenda.  Not wanting something.  Just true connection.  Connection is key.  Connect to create. Connect to your self. Connect to others. Connect to your...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 293: I did not plan that!

Day 293:  I double click on my Word document titled, “Featured Dream of the Week.”  This is a list of each dream I have featured and on which Fridays and of course, it tells me which one is next to feature.  Last week’s featured dream was the 13th dream to arrive.  Next up is the 12th dream to arrive.  I originally started with the 1st dream then I started featuring backwards from Dream 21.  Not for any particular reason, just came to me.   I always enjoy seeing which dream is up next to feature because I can’t remember all of them and their numbers.  I have no idea what dream 12 is.  I log on to the site, begin creating the post—I copy and paste from one week to the...

Morning Motivation — What gets you in the flow?

Posted by

What gets you in the flow?   What gets you in the flow—that motivated, glorious state of single-minded focus where the world melts away and it’s only you and your creation?  Clear your schedule.  Carve out the time.  Shut off the electronics.  Turn off the phones.  Send the kids on a play date.  Go to the library.  Go to the beach.  Meditate.  Turn on your favorite music.  Dance.  Do whatever you have to do to prepare yourself for getting into the flow of creating.  In order to give yourself a chance to reach flow you have to prepare for it.  You have to allow for it.  You have to welcome it.  You have to invite it in.  Create an atmosphere that lets you deeply...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 292: Frame by Frame

Day 292:  I’m back!  Back in the flow.  And it was glorious!  I was also back with scene 7 all day—11 hours to be exact.  And it flew by.   Today, I’m going to do a tweak to scene 9.  That’s all.  And then I’m going to finally go to Target and return the file folder thing.  It’s always dangerous to go to Target.  It’s magically really.  I go in for one thing and walk out with $200 worth of crap.  I’m going to try and avoid that this time.  Get in and get out. The other thing I hope to catch up on is all the reading I’m behind on.  So much reading to do.  I need to review the scripts for projects one and two because I have meetings about them both next week.  I need to...

Morning Motivation — What is enough?

Posted by

What is enough? How much money will it take?  How low does the scale have to go?  How many “likes” are enough?  Enough with the insatiable cravings!  Instead of constantly wanting—more money, to be skinnier, to be liked, to be somewhere else—start creating.  Get busy creating from what you already have and you won’t have time to worry about what you don’t have.  If you focus on creating, you won’t have time to worry about what anyone else thinks of you either.  Free yourself!  Decide that whatever you have and wherever you are right now is enough.  In fact, it’s actually perfect!  You have enough money.  You have enough talent.  You have enough love.  You have enough...
