In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 351: Perspective

Day 351:  I slept 12 straight hours last night and woke up to an early arrival of my period.  I feel like a new woman with a new perspective.  What happened in Newtown, CT, was certainly a slap in the face.  26 shot and murdered including 20 children.  Now that would snap the most self-centered asshole out of anything.  Awful.  Just f*cking awful.  My heart is broken for all of the victims and their families.  My thoughts and prayers are with them. So, I am feeling blessed and lucky to be alive!  And, I have been talking with my most trusted and talented tribe today.  Getting feedback and opinions and ideas but most importantly, receiving love, belief and encouragement....

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 350: Should I pull the plug?

Day 350:  The table read went amazingly well!  I was incredibly happy and felt good about the cast we assembled to read the script out loud for the very first time.  So did my director.  Screenwriter Monica unfortunately couldn’t make it.  Pesky day job.  Table reads are always a bit awkward with meeting new people and reading cold from the script, but, it was a blast!  Creative differences and complications ensued afterwards but all in all, I’m very excited about the cast we have so far.  Conflicts with two of the actors proved too great and they bowed out.  That is exactly why I haven’t made any official cast announcements yet!  Besides my dentist, Dr. Woss, who...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 349: Hair and a Table Read

Day 349: Yesterday was all about hair.  In particular, my hair.  I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in a substantial way in over two years.  It was so long I could easily put my hand behind my back and touch it.  It was almost down to my ass, flower child length.  It certainly was not lawyerly in any way which is what my character is…a lawyer.  So, my co-producer marched me to a hair stylist and oversaw the transformation of my “look.”  It was really fun and I love my new cut and color! This morning, I’m prepping for our first table read with the main players in our cast.  I can’t wait!  It’s really the first time we’ll be hearing the script out loud and it is the first step...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 348: Break-in!

Day 348: Surgery was successful!  Thank you to everyone for all of the beautiful love and light and prayers.  My heart and my family thank you so much! The patient is resting comfortably and doing great!  I decide it’s okay to drive home last night.  I’m on the phone with Uh-Mazing Romantic Partner when I pull in the garage and park.  I walk toward the house and notice the kitchen light is on. “I don’t remember leaving that light on,” I say, my heart immediately starting to race.  “Oh my god, someone has broken in.” I’m about to call 911 when Uh-Mazing Romantic Partner says, “I wonder who it could be?” I have a moment of dawning realization when I see suitcases parked...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 347: Family

Day 347: I’m at the Los Alamitos Hospital.  This time I am not screwing up when my family needs me!  Long story short, someone in my family needs me today and I’m here for them.  And everything is going to be okay but your prayers will be greatly appreciated just the same. I’m thankful.  I’m so overwhelmingly, ridiculously thankful for everything and everyone in my life.  If I haven’t told you lately, I love you.  I appreciate you.  And I’m so blessed to have you in my life, to have you be a part of the Think Outside The Box Inside the Box community, and, to be a positive energy for my soul. Life is short.  Let’s be grateful for all the time we have. ...

Travel Column: Up and Away, Down to Earth—Edinburgh, Scotland

An Unlikely Road By: Stephanie Weyant   Standing on the edge of a cliff, my toes inch forward – wildly, stubbornly testing fate.  I inhale the longest, deepest breath of my life and listen as a voice inside tells me, “Everything will be okay.”  All that had transpired these last four weeks – hell, these last four years – were giving way to an inner strength I’d never known.  I pause for a moment as it swells within me.  I savor my surroundings; the rugged beauty of Scotland is hypnotizing.  Every direction exposes the most heavenly view of Edinburgh, and thousands of miles away from heartbreak, I am on the road to recovery.  That road has led me to the edge of a...

In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 345: Whirlwind Day

Day 345:  I woke up at 5:07am and somehow, in the blink of an eye, it’s 9:07pm.  WTF? An amazing day…for the most part anyway. I honestly can’t remember what I did from 5 to 7am, but I know I was doing something.  I was working, doing something, for the site and the movie. Then, at 7am, I had a wonderful session with Ridiculously Generous, Amazingly Talented and Very Successful Actress Friend who has graciously agreed to work my lines with me for my character in the film.  Not only helping me get them down but work on my character and arc and prep for the shoot. It’s a relief knowing she has my back because as I mentioned yesterday, I’ve taken a big bite with this...

Monday Motivation — Are you expanding in all directions?

Posted by

Are you expanding in all directions?   Sometimes it’s easy for your focus to get so narrow you’re only expanding in one area, in one direction.  What if you take a moment to consider all aspects of your life?  If your career is growing in the direction you want but your health is suffering because of it, it’s time to shift and find balance.  If your spiritual health is expanding and growing in the right direction but you have no money to pay the rent, it’s time to find balance.  Every part of your life—your health, your career, your family, your spirit—needs to be expanding in all directions.  Slow down and take stock of what area needs some attention in order to...
