In the Trenches—Day 2 Year 2: Production Meeting

Day 2 Year 2:  I was not feeling well yesterday—no, I wasn’t hung over.  Regardless, it was not the most ideal way to start the New Year.    I hope it doesn’t lead to anything worse.  I don’t have time to be sick!

This morning my creative team for film project number one has a production meeting at my house.  I’m meeting our new line producer and we’re going to hit the ground running.  I owe my SAG rep some more paperwork today—pre-production cast list, day out of days and a budget.  I’m still searching for an actress to play Momma.  I had three leads, two of which never sent me their headshot and resume and the third hasn’t called me back.  I still haven’t found my character’s shoes and my director just did his pass on the script and some dialogue was tweaked so it’s back to lines for me as well.

Counting today, we have 12 days to get prepped and ready to go to start shooting on January 14.  Not counting today, we have 11 days.  I’m oddly calm in this moment.  I’m probably just still half asleep.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…calm moments.
