In the Trenches—Day 6 Year 2: 9 Days and Counting

Day 6 Year 2:  I can’t seem to relax.  At all.  Even a little.  Maybe that’s a good thing?  I work on the movie all day.  I go to sleep thinking about the movie.  I wake up from dreaming about the movie.  I am truly deep in the middle of creating this movie and I’m a mess.  Thank god for my creative team and our new line producer!  Obviously, without a team, you can’t create a film.  It takes a village.

I watched Silver Linings Playbook last night.  I had been resisting watching this one simply because the love interests’ age difference is so great it bugs the shit out of me.  Of course it’s an older man/younger woman scenario.  Ugh.  Makes me vomit a little in my mouth.  I’m so sick of seeing it.  But I’m off topic.  It was actually a really enjoyable film to watch.  I’m not sure if I can go so far as to label it a great film but it certainly kept me watching.  I loved how it was shot and directed.  The director, David O. Russell, is one of my favs.  His first indie feature, Spanking the Monkey, will always be one of the films that inspired me to want to make my own movies.

We’re 9 days from the first day of filming—including today.  We had to push our start date to January 15th because we have to shoot one of our locations on a Sunday in order to get it at the low price we’re getting it for.  I may be falling apart but the movie is coming together.

I have a feeling I’m going to simply keel over January 27th the day after we wrap.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have….9 days.
