Daily Dose—DO IT ANYWAY

Posted by

According to PrayerFoundation.org, there is a poem attributed to Mother Teresa called “Do It Anyway” that was supposedly written on the wall of her home for children in Calcutta.  My favorite line in the verse they have listed as her version is, “What you could spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.”  The verses were originally written by Dr. Kent M. Keith and are slightly different than the one attributed to Mother Teresa.  And, according to Mr. Keith’s website, apparently, there are two different versions attributed to Mother Teresa circulating around the web.  But no matter how you slice it or who you attribute it to, the message is the same: no matter how many obstacles you have to forgiving, being kind, succeeding, being honest, building something, being happy, doing good, giving your best, or creating your dreams, do it anyway.

No matter how you feel and no matter who or what tries to get in the way today, do it anyway!

Too busy to exercise?

Do it anyway.

Too tired to make a healthy meal for dinner?

Do it anyway.

Too nervous to ask him or her out?

Do it anyway.

Too scared to decide who will direct your movie?

Do it anyway.

Too overwhelmed to do your best work?

Do it anyway.

Too insecure to start creating your dreams?

Do it anyway.
