Daily Dose—TRY SOMETHING NEW

Doing the same thing expecting different results?

Try something new!

You know Einstein’s definition of insanity, right?  “Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.”  We’re all guilty of being insane!  Trying the same diet over and over again expecting to finally lose that last ten pounds.  Setting New Year’s resolutions year after year expecting to stick to them.  Having cookies in the house over and over again expecting to have the will power not to eat them.  Starting NaNoWriMo every November only to fall short by a million words.  It’s a new year and a new opportunity for change, for expansion, for a do-over.  But doing something over doesn’t mean you have to do it the exact same way you did it before especially if you want it to come out better, bolder, brighter!  In order to get different, better results, why not try doing things differently?  Shake things up!  Ban cookies from your cupboards!  Drive a different way to work.  Shop at a different grocery store.  Make your New Year’s Resolutions in June or don’t make any at all.  Think differently about your problems.  Write 1000 words every day on your novel and then do NaNoWriMo as the big push to finish it.  Plan a different experience.  Give “new” and different a shot in this new year and see if you can actually get different results!

Think different.

Act different.

Be different.

Create different results.
