Creating 2015—Day 51:   Wake-Up Email

I woke up to find an email from Eye-Doc Sis in my in-box. She was sharing an upsetting family challenge—her sister-in-law is battling breast cancer.  How awful!  My heart constricted and tears fell.  Good lord, I have been so completely and totally self-absorbed lately.  It was a much-needed wake-up email.  I need to snap out of my little selfish microcosm and realize that other people are fighting for their lives.  This terrible news reminds me that what I’ve been freaking out over for the last couple of weeks isn’t such a big deal in the grand scheme of things.  Eye-Doc Sis asked for prayers.  And prayers she will get!  I said prayers this morning after getting the email and I will continue to say prayers every day for Sue’s full recovery.
