Shift Your Thinking

What if you could be empowered simply by shifting your thinking?  That is precisely the goal of Think Outside The Box Inside The Box…to get you thinking about what you already have in your life in a new way and create from it.

We live in a world that wants more of everything it has and doesn’t have, and then some.  More, more, more.  It usually takes a war or a crisis—financial, emotional, or health—to make us slow down and take a look at what we already have in our lives, appreciate it and do something with it.

At the forefront of the average person’s mind is what they want.  Those wants and desires fuel action or inactivity and behaviors.  Think about what you want.  What you really, really, really want.  What is it that you want to do?  What is it that you want to accomplish?  What is it that you want to become?  Do you want a smaller waist?  Do you want a new career?  Do you want a new relationship?  Do you want an education?  Do you want better health?  Do you want to start a new business?  Do you want to write a book?  Do you want to create a community?

Now, instead of thinking about what you don’t have—whether that’s money, love, resources, traditional beauty, people who believe in you, and on and on—seriously think about what you do have in your life.  Do you have a place to live?  Do you have food?  Do you have clothes?  Do you have your health?  Do you have a back yard?  Do you have a friend?  Do you have an idea?  Do you have a story?  Do you have a desire to change?

How can you utilize what you already have in order to create whatever it is you actually want to create?

If you’re starving:  You go to your cupboards.  You have a slice of swiss cheese, a brussels sprout, a can of spam, a bottle of ketchup and a spice rack.  You have no money, no car, no friends, no other options.  You don’t go hungry, you get creative.   You make something to eat from what you have.

If you’re an artist:  you have a back yard full of trees, leaves, grass and rocks, plus a fork and a tube sock.  These are all you have to work with.  You don’t give up, you get creative.  You make a piece of art from what you have.

The whole concept is about creating from wherever you are with whatever you have right now and in the process, empowering yourself and creating change in your life.

You have so much more than you realize.  Shift your thinking so you can see it, appreciate it and create from it.

What are you going to create?
