Think Outside The Box Inside The Box Media is proud to announce the addition of new contributor, Katie Taggart. Katie will be contributing to the College Desk Column as well as writing articles on subjects that interest her and will be of interest to our readers.
Katie is a lover of all things having to do with writing. She is an aspiring novelist, an avid reader of the classics, a publicist in the making, a baking enthusiast and a junior at Otterbein University majoring in journalism with a minor in public relations. She got her start in the eighth grade writing for her middle school paper. She is now a writer and the assistant news editor her for college newspaper, the Tan and Cardinal. Her job for the paper involves editing stories, designing pages and putting together the crime log—a list and map of crimes that have happened on campus each week. Her articles include, Buying Books Without Breaking the Bank, Higher Tuition in the Works for Next Semester, and, Chalking Policy to Undergo Revision. She is also currently interning at 614media. They publish 614 Magazine, UWeekly, and Food City Columbus. Her dream mentor would be George Orwell, a journalist who became a novelist who wrote about dystopian societies—one of her favorite subjects because, “It sheds light on what we need to fix in order to prevent a poor future.” Katie leads a quiet life in Westerville, Ohio and looks forward to finishing her degree, continuing to build her skills as a journalist and a writer, and finding excitement and exciting work in the future.
