Day 88. I wake up from a crazy dream where my oral surgeon is drilling a hole in my head at my follow up appointment. Disturbing. I hope tomorrow at my actual appointment no drills are involved.
I decide to flip my day. I normally immediately turn on my cell phone and my laptop to check emails and Facebook and then write my daily report. Today, I decide to flip that around and do it all at the end of the day instead. I only turn on my cell long enough to check for emergencies and Facebook a quick “congrats” to a friend who is about to give birth via C-section. I fire up the Avid. I’m determined to get a lot done for my crusade today.
Midway through the day I am about to throw in the towel and watch Dr. Oz when it dawns on me: my gluten free, sugar free brownies are soft if I leave out the walnuts. That’s right, the brownies are back! I had a kick ass 12-hour editing day that yielded not only a completed scene 12 bin prepped and ready to go for Dan the Amazing Editor Man but also a completed scene 13! I may need the grease and pliers again soon to get on my skinny jeans but I don’t care. The gooey warm chocolate deliciousness not only kept me going but it was a much needed treat after a week of shitty pain and gallons of green juice. Brownie fueled determination is awesome. Get it done!
Until tomorrow, create from what you have…determination.
