In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 290: Editing Lessons

Day 290:  Scene 8 is as good as I can get it for now!  I need feedback from Producing Partner.  This scene isn’t an introduction piece, it’s an action scene and for some reason, I hit a wall with feeling I don’t understand the pacing and dynamics of how to edit a scene like this with interview bites intercut into the reality.  I need some editing lessons.  And, I need to work on that because again, I’m probably not as bad at it as I think I am.  We’ll see.  I will have many more lessons and opportunities to work on these types of scenes—32 more opportunities to be exact.  Yes, that’s right, I have 32 more scenes to edit before December 31st at 11:59pm.  Gulp.

Today is all about scene 9.  And lucky me, it’s an introduction scene of a character I simply adore.  And, the scene is already pretty strong, all I need to do is go in and focus it, add some missing interview bites and dial it in another step.  So, I’m excited about it.  I have high hopes for it.  As in, I hope to be done with it early enough to get to Target to return this file folder thing I bought thinking it was going to be the dream collection box but I found the really cool purple one at Office Depot after instead.  But that’s off topic.

We shall see how the day unfolds.  I’m open.  I’m ready.  I’m willing.  Bring on the lessons!

Until tomorrow, create from what you have…lessons to learn.
