In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 292: Frame by Frame

Day 292:  I’m back!  Back in the flow.  And it was glorious!  I was also back with scene 7 all day—11 hours to be exact.  And it flew by.   Today, I’m going to do a tweak to scene 9.  That’s all.  And then I’m going to finally go to Target and return the file folder thing.  It’s always dangerous to go to Target.  It’s magically really.  I go in for one thing and walk out with $200 worth of crap.  I’m going to try and avoid that this time.  Get in and get out.

The other thing I hope to catch up on is all the reading I’m behind on.  So much reading to do.  I need to review the scripts for projects one and two because I have meetings about them both next week.  I need to read the first draft of my new travel writer’s column.  I need to read my friend’s last blog and on and on.

It dawned on me mid-way through tearing apart scene 7 and rebuilding it with better focus on what the scene was about that the next two months are going to be about details.  Tiny details.  Frames.  I must go frame by frame.  There is no room at this stage to think globally.  It’s not about the big picture, it’s about the little picture.  It’s about these individual scenes.  That’s all I can think about.  Each scene and it’s little big picture.  It’s leading to being able to see the global, big picture of the film—what stays, what works, what doesn’t—but not right now.  Right now, it’s about the details.

Until tomorrow, create from what you have….details to focus on.
