In The Trenches—The Founder’s Daily Report: Day 295: Surprise!

Day 295:

Partner in Crime

I am pleased to report that I pulled off a really cool surprise coup!

I took the red-eye to Kansas City, Missouri and my awesome up for anything niece picked me up at midnight even though she had been in school all day and had to be up for work the next morning.

She smuggled me into the house.  We managed to sneak past her dad and mother’s room at 1am.  We slept for a few hours until she had to be up at 6:30am.  She went downstairs first with her present for her mom, who was already up.

Surprise accomplished!

Her mom opened her present, and then my Awesome Up-for-anything Niece said, “I’ve got one more surprise.”  This was my cue line.  I missed it.

She said louder, “I’ve got one more surprise!”  I finally appeared at the top of the stairs.  Eye-Doc Sis was in total shock.  “What the…?”  She never saw it coming.  Woo hoo!  There were hugs and tears and good times.  Surprise accomplished!
