Daily Dose—BE AWARE

HOW AWARE ARE YOU?

Look both ways before you cross the street.  Remember to floss every day.  Be mindful of your thoughts.  Take care of your health.  Go for your dreams.  At the heart of all of these things is awareness.  Being aware of your surroundings.  Being aware of important daily actions.  Being aware of your health.  Being aware of your goals.  Being aware of your dreams.  When you stop paying attention to what matters to you, you can lose sight of what really matters.  The deeper problem is self-sabotage.  According to Psychology Today, “Behavior is said to be self-sabotaging when it creates problems and interferes with long-standing goals. The most common self-sabotaging behaviors are procrastination, self-medication with drugs or alcohol, comfort eating, and forms of self-injury such as cutting. These acts may seem helpful in the moment, but ultimately undermine us, especially when we engage in them repeatedly.”  Are you sabotaging your health, your goals, your dreams?  It is time to become aware of old patterns, out of date modalities of support, and the daily subtle sabotage that keeps you from creating the life of your dreams.  It’s time to become aware of any behaviors that are sabotaging your health, your goals and your dreams and make changes as needed.  Ask yourself, “Where am I sabotaging myself?”  From the subtle—not getting enough sleep—to the obvious—drinking on the job—be aware of any self-sabotaging behavior and start to make a positive change today.

Be aware.

Get help.

Make a change.

Create the life of your dreams.

Just say no to self-sabotage!

Just say “NO” to self-sabotage!
